SlimerRules -- Such a system as you suggest would be a lot more work for the item owners and totally inadequate for dealing with trolls. Blocking can be turned on and off, so if an item owner wished to offer that kind of extra chances to other members, they can already do that. However, my 13+ years of moderator experience in telling people they did something they're not allowed to do, would say that's not a productive use of their time because of how many people (who don't consider themselves to be trolls) get extremely angry and abusive (and sometimes destructive) when they are told they can't do something. Your own reaction is not that of someone who respects the rights of the item owner to say what is allowed and not allowed: you're frustrated and looking for some way to change the system to get what you want, and you are not considering how that would affect other people. For yourself in future, you might consider remembering that swearing and XXX-rated content are not the only reasons for blocking someone. For instance: Pay more attention to the actual content rating of the item and what content therefore cannot be posted there. Rereading Content Rating System (CRS) from Writing.Com 101 regularly is a good idea. Pay more careful attention to the specific directions given for the item. If you're not 100% certain that you understand exactly what those directions mean, you should email the item owner and ask for clarification about what they want, instead of going ahead with whatever. Hope that helps, and thank you for the GPs. Northernwrites___ ~~Image #6000 Sharing Restricted~~ ~~Image #603504 Sharing Restricted~~ |
