Just make sure it has room to grow. If you fill up a page in your little spiral bound notebook and then flip the page and do the next assignment on the next page, you won't have room to add settings as they come to you. Make it electronic, use note cards, or make sure you save a lot of space on that spiral bound page so that there's room for the list to grow.
