October Novel Prep Challenge

This is my first ever attempt to write a novel. We are almost done with prep. Once we get the novel written, I am thinking many of us would love to see it published. I know we can ask for reviews of our work. Since I am so new at this, I am wondering what is next? I am looking forward to writing the novel even for my own entertainment, but I would like it to be so much more than that. Are there tips somewhere for what steps to take next after the novel is completely written?
