Lovely poem.. terrific sentiment and indubitably true. As an artist and a Registered Nurse and now a wordsmith (however inept as a fledgling), I have seen the brutal expectations of others while I work my fingers to the bone for little or no expression of gratitude by others. I, too, feel the serenity in pursuing my art and poetry at my own pace in my own peace.

Now, if I can somehow get the other chaos of having autistic children who are adults that will always live with me to calm down occasionally !!!
