What is the handle you are trying to use?

Are you typing it or using copy and paste?

If you copy and paste, you sometimes can inadvertently add invisible characters.

Are you using symbols?

Symbols sometimes appear to take one space but count as more than one character.

Are there leading or trailing spaces that need to be deleted?

These are just some things I have experienced.
