Re: Form of the week: Epistle

To My Dear Dog

You were dear, you were fine,
oh, my sweet brown-eyed girl,
I’m so glad you were mine.

The years flew by too fast,
and then you had to go.
Now, our time is long-past.

But sometimes I still hear
the click of your big paws.
Just my longings, I fear.

Though my grief’s yet inside,
time has softened the pain.
In my heart you’ll abide.
