I built my home network and writing tools so that I could write literally anywhere I could get a signal and establish a VPN connection to my home.
I have an office, and on my days off I tend to write there for a while, but on working days I spend an hour or two writing before I start work.
I also write in my living room, usually with some calming music playing (surprisingly, Max Richter's eight and a half hour opus, Sleep, works well), just to get me out of the office. The change in environment can be helpful.
I have written in hospital, once on my phone and once on my Chromebook, because those long waits in outpatients can be interminable and I feel better having done something useful with my time. Oh, and on the train to/from the hospital too!
