The Contest Challenge

I think joining because you don't have other employment options is a great thing! Not great that you don't have other options, but it's much better than becoming a digital thief, getting on welfare, or other "options." I've known people who complain that they can't get a job for this or that reason (always blaming someone or something else, of course), and when I suggest a short stint in the military which will give them both job skills and education benefits, they always refuse. I've never talked to someone who complained about not having a job, but when I suggested the military, they agreed it was a reasonable option. Though I did meet several folks in the military who joined for just that reason. One of them was in his 30's when he joined. I especially admired him! That was certainly not an easy choice at his age!
