I'd like more cover photo options.

Licensing costs are definitely a factor here as the existing cover photos are all from our own photos. We've made some attempts over the years to expand that on our own stock photos (photo outings and expeditions) and I won't rule out that more will be added over time.

Realistically, though, any serious or significantly noticeable expansion to our stock photo selection would require expensive licensing fees for us to purchase from other photographers... something that's probably not going to happen.

The great thing about covers, however, is that everyone can upload their own cover photos and there's a really decent amount of free imagery/photography on the net that individuals can use, but that Writing.Com can't use as provided "stock photos". Something like https://www.pexels.com/ offers free to use photos for individuals for non-commercial purposes, which is what personal cover uploads would fall under.

It would be nice for the copy/paste bar to appear maybe 1 or 2 lines below the top of the thing we are highlighting so we can still easily find it

Just noting this would be feedback to your phone maker for their phone OS software. We have zero control over the copy/paste bar generated by phone operating systems.
