Thanks for these awesome reviews. I re-read them both a couple of years ago when I came across the TV show on a streaming channel. I agree that the dialects were tricky (especially when you're English), but I also think it makes the books more authentic. I watched the TV show after I finished reading, and I was transported to Sunday mornings, watching it with my Dad, both of us soaking up all of the mischief and fun of the characters. Happy times.
