Thanks for this great review. The book sounds so interesting. Victor Hugo sounds like a nasty man. Having his daughter committed to an asylum for 40 years? That's just awful.

On a side note, it's quite spooky that you posted this review now because I've just set my headphones on and selected the Les Mis soundtrack. I must have had a sixth sense! *Laugh*
