Ah, indeed...

With over 850 badges, the Merit Badge form was certainly missing a "search" function. It may have been requested before... but this time, prompted by your post, The StoryMistress said "Hey, can you do something about this badge stuff?"

So... live search function now in place.
You can search for badge names, group names, or group item id.

... And in the "Group Tools" there's now a link to "Send Group Badges" which jumps to the badge form and pre-populates the search field with the group Item Id. Please note it does NOT pre-check to see if the group has any badges. The link is just always there, badges or not... because it's a lot for the system to check for badges each time it shows that menu.
