This sounds like a Tik-Tok challenge today, but this was many years ago.

There were 7 steep, windy hills near where I lived. The challenge was: how fast can you drive the hills, called the Seven Sisters, and not get a ticket. (Never thought we could get killed doing this.) A friend had a huge Oldsmobile 98, almost a tank actually, so one night we took the challenge. I don't know how fast we were going when we had a tire blow out and came very close to hitting a tree head on. I never went back again.
