Just to attempt to clarify: the daily assignments can be based on your own time zone, but the Contest Rounds have a hard deadline of noon WDC time on a Sunday.

If you choose not to participate in the contests, they work just like every other daily assignment. But if you do want to be eligible for the contest, be aware of the time zone differences.
