October Novel Prep Challenge

Hi,

I have never done this before, but I need an opinion. Like. yes, no, it stinks, try again, maybe this will help..... Just honesty. I am still trying to mold this story.

This is what I have for a premise:

After receiving a mysterious note that his wife was murdered, (Situation) a tormented Private Investigator (Protagonist) must solve the murder (objective) of Sinclair Banks, a successful vintner, to prevent a serial killer (opponent) from killing again (conflict) on the small island of Mercle.
