A month-long novel-planning challenge. NaNoWriMo'ers welcome! 2026 sign-ups open Sept 1st. |
About 15 years ago I was given the advice that a good antagonist thinks they are the protagonist, and are the hero of their own story. Since then, that's how I've written my "bad guys"... and, yes, since then I have had most of my publication sales. I don't think that's a coincidence. The idea of being able to write the story with the antag as protag and vice versa is something else I have done. Does the monster, who is just an animal, concerned about these creatures trying to kill it when it just wants to feed and procreate? Great - sympathetic antag. And so on. So, basically I'm just reiterating what Brandiwyn🎶 already said... throwing my own two cents in. Sorry. I'll go away now. |
