It depends on the individual dragon more than anything else. All dragon communities have those dergs perfering to settle apart & those dragon species that are more solitary have some that share territory amongst those they trust. As for interbreeding, all dragons are capable although it's the minority that feel free to do so. Furthermore, each species has a limited number of compatible species so it's not like any two dragons will assuredly produce eggs that will hatch (those that do are more likely to share traits, but not be distinct enough to be considered a new species). Lastly, Alpha species can crossbreed but never obtain Alpha offspring as that requires 2 alphas of the same species. So in essance one cannot crossbreed dragons to create a brand new Alpha species. The downside is there aren't as many belonging to Alpha species so they are more likely to be endangered (which thankfuly is offset by their power).
