I saw a post on another site where someone asked what could be successful in sci-fi/fantasy given that people seem to be tired of the tried and tested franchises but newer stuff isn't gaining traction. (Note: this person didn't state in what form they saw this, but I'm guessing it's movies and TV.) I suggested that this drop-off might be a good thing, as it could give other genres a chance to shine.

With that in mind, what genres do you want to see more often in the media? Any form can be considered and discussed.
