Parents are not in their children's bodies. Parents don't "make" children do certain things.

BUT

Parents need to speak to their children and help them through their feelings when kids are:

talking back to teachers
throwing a tantrum
breaking a toy on purpose

Parents need to intervene through more words, visible actions, and seeking professional help when kids:

bully others
express suicidal thoughts
threaten to harm others

Parents are responsible and guilty when:

they give their suicidal kid who has threatened to harm others a gun and ammunition!

Mrs. Crumbley is in the third category and she is rightfully getting punished for her actions that led to four children dying, seven being seriously hurt, and school full of kids scared for life. I hope Mr. Crumbley also gets 15-25 years in prison for his lack of involvement in his son's upbringing.
