I tend not to do dares. And, when younger, was rarely dared to do anything because what I did was weird to all my friends anyway - wrestling, circus, writing & submitting, boxing... you know the drill. And if something came up - bunjee jumping, for example - I was the first to try it anyway.
But I suppose the biggest dare I did was in writing. I was dared to send a poem to Dolly magazine, an Australian magazine designed for teenaged and pre-teen girls, and which was insanely popular. I was 15, and my girlfriend at the time, Joanne, dared me to do it. Being a boy, I knew I'd never get it in, so I sent it under Joanne's name... and it was published. My first ever publication, a poem, in a magazine I did not read!
