I have a lot of fears, but two (and a half) phobias. I have thalassophobia, the fear of deep water. For me this directly translates to sea creatures in water, specifically dolphins. I've learned to handle looking at most pictures and some video of large sea creatures underwater, but I can't really see a picture of a dolphin without being creeped out. So, deep water and dolphins.
My 1/2 phobia is trypophobia, which I've always felt empathy for, but never realized I had it. According to Wikipedia, trypophobia (fear of clusters of bumps or holes) most often manifests and disgust and that definitely describes me. The first picture in the Wikipedia article absolutely disgusts me. It quite literally makes me feel nauseated. I get that stomach flip feeling like I'm on a roller coaster.
The funny thing is that when I'm stressed but numb, I'll find myself googling thalassophobia images to get myself to feel something. That usually releases the anger or tears so I can journal and work out what I'm feeling.
