The Cuban missle crisis. I didn’t know it at the time, but when I lived in New York State, our so-called basement areas, with a family room, play area, Dads work room for projects, and a storage area, with a huge fridge, was actually constructed during that time just in case we needed to fallout shelter. When I see a picture of Fidel Castro, it’s still evokes memories of fear.
