It would start with a crisp morning, my Akita and I in my canoe, on the lake in time for the morning rise. The rainbows are picky, as always, but I fill my daily limit in a few hours, then we make for shore.
She stretches and bounces out, walks off a few feet and relieves her bladder. I'm shyer, and walk behind my truck, first.
Unloading the canoe, placing it in the roof rack takes just a few minutes. Then my Akita is strapped into the passenger seat, and we're off to our cabin in the woods.
