I would go to Japan. Annoy people with my poor language skills by only remembering a handful of phrases that I know. Aside from that, I would like to go eat Yakimo, shop in Ginza and see MT. Fuji. Both my grandfathers were there. Grandpa Allred was a weather man in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he climbed Mt. Fuji and got his picture taken with a couple of Geishas.(Incidentally my mom saw this photo of her dad and the Geishas. She didn't understand what Geishas are so my mom wanted to be a Geisha for a while ![]() My other grandfather was there as a Chaplain in Tokyo during the Korean War. He actually met someone who was a member of the church I belong to while in Tokyo. This person actually converted my Grandpa to the religion while he was over there. Anyways, I'm not sure that was a tangent. I'm going to end this post with some terrible Romaji. "Watashi no kazoku no naka de, Nihon koku wa taisetsu na basho to omoimasu. Dakara, Watshi wa Nihon koku ga mitai desu yo wa ne!" (Rough translation: In my family Japan is an important place, I think. Therefore, I want to see Japan~!) |
