I believe in 2017 I signed up for NaNo a week late and pushed myself to finish a week early, but didn't know why. Not long after finishing I got sick as a dog and understood the reason for the urgency. Spending almost all day writing was a challenge, but I wrote 50K that year,

When I do NaNo I force the editor to take a long vacation and simply write.
