First, here are the things that potentially belong on a burger: Cheese, Bacon, Onion, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Jalapeños, Mustard. I do not differentiate between grilled onions and onions, because I typically would want both. Mushrooms, barbecue sauce, and hard-fried eggs are good on burgers, but not essential burger toppings. I'm not differentiating between the different cheese options, as that would make the list too long and too difficult to choose from. Mayonnaise and ketchup are not on the list, and while I can tolerate ketchup on McDonald's burgers, it isn't a topping I would pick otherwise. Mayo has no place on or in any food, in my opinion. Now, I can easily do without the mustard, so it really comes down to which of the others am I in the mood for. I won't normally do bacon without cheese, but with the exception of onions, I can't decide between the other toppings, so I think I'll skip this restaurant and go to Whataburger, where I can get cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, jalapeños, and mustard without having to narrow down to only 4 choices, and if I get there between 11pm and 11am, I can get the hard-fried egg as well. |
