I know, right? The twist came from this online definition, "A cavity, space, or channel in the body. Examples include hollow spaces in the bones at the front of the skull, and channels for blood and lymph. Previously, I thought of the sinuses as solely those in the forehead region, but broadening the understanding to mean, "cavities or spaces in the body" seemed to fit the concept in the poem.
