Besides the library? I like nature so I'm gonna say Cape May Lighthouse State Park. There's Mute swans and a lighthouse and an interpretive museum. There's also loads of Eagles, Ospreys, Kestrels. Swallows, Herons, Glossy Ibises, Merlins, Purple Martins and of course ducks.
For those not into geeky things like that there's also a public beach just over the dunes from the observation platform. Just if you're going to the beach, remember your tags. Oh, and watch out for those flying rats, Seagulls.(two summer varieties; the Napoleanic and the Laughing Gull. The lousy blighters look near identical though except for the black patch on one gull species head is further back than the other.) They are notorious for stealing food right out of the unweary tourist's hands.
