For me, writing poetry is usually easier than writing a story. So, if I've lost my muse, I typically will attempt writing poetry to get back into the groove of things. It happens often for me since I work so often. It's hard to feel creative enough to write a story after a long shift. Sometimes, I just want to numb my brain and watch TV or play a video game.
I think what's helped me the most, is finding inspiration in anything and everything. Be open-minded. You never know what could trigger a story idea if you think about it. And when I have sudden ideas for plots, or even for poetry, and I'm too busy/not inspired enough to write it at that moment, I try to jot the ideas down in my phone notes so that way I can come back to them.
Here. A trinket for you guys. I made my first one, and will be dropping it in random places around WdC.
