Towards the end of my teens, the wife of one of my father's friends took me aside and advised me to marry someone of equal intelligence to myself. Since which time, I've made all prospects take an IQ test before... No, wait, that's not true. The point is that it's advice that's impossible to follow and probably happens quite naturally, anyway.
Other than that, I can't remember ever receiving advice from anyone. Which makes sense, really. The whole point of ignoring advice is that it's soon forgotten. Or is that just me?
