Not sure if this is the issue but deleted post don't actually disappear—or at least they didn't use to..

As WakeUpAndLive️🦇Elf'sSpell suggests, you can edit the post and replace ***Deleted Message*** and the message itself with anything you want...

Can you link the post here you are trying to delete...
