I think the benefit of Star Wars/Marvel style narratives with clearly delineated, larger-than-life antagonists is that the story's conflict tends to be more straightforward/accessible/focused—which, I suppose, means it's accessible to a greater number of people.
With multiple antagonists/antagonistic forces, I think there's the potential to be able to tell more complicated/nuanced stories, but "complicated" can be a bad thing if the antagonists/antagonistic forces get jumbled or fail to complicate/escalate each other, so I think I'll have my hands full trying to make sure I don't mess this up.
I'll definitely fumble something. Luckily, that's what revision is for.
