Antagonists mustn't be evil or criminals per se.

It's someone who stands in the way of the protagonist completing their story "mission", no matter why. It can even be a something = a situation.

I, for example, am a lazy poop.

My protagonists are each other's antagonists , and their conflicted feelings toward the other have something antagonistic, either.
