In the old days, I had different sorts of music for different genres, and would put on LPs/CDs so I was mood-matched. The problem was, it did change.
Looking through my notes, at one stage:
* classical for horror
* 50's/60's for fantasy
* classic rock for comedy
* 80s for sci-fi
Nowadays, I do writing sprints to Dragonforce (great music at an insane bpm, and I can get up to 50-odd wpm when typing to them) and often find myself listening to prog rock (and adjacent) while writing horror.
