This makes me think of a cover story - the jacket blurbs on books. Do those few paragraphs catch my attention? Of all the hundreds of books in any bookstore, why should I read this one? Is it the subject? Is it the storyline? Is it something about the characters? There has to be some kind of 'hook' that makes you want to read more.
