My Holiday Season 2024

I could easily have spent my time in remorse
remembering holidays from before my divorce
But instead of feeling sad and all alone
I connected with family and friends by phone.

In between calls, I took a walk by the ocean
struck by its stillness amidst humans in motion
What I thought would be just ordinary days
turned out to be special in so many ways.
