I've not seen very many plays, but man do I fondly remember going to Schofield Barracks in 75 or 76 and seeing A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. Not seeing that many plays makes that one my favorite. I've never tried writing for the stage, I only have a vague idea of how to go about that. I think it would be fun, I also think I should take a class on Script writing before even considering trying my hand at that.
