I like to celebrate holidays that put focus on the environment. I'm sure there are MANY more, but here are a few to choose from: 1. World Environment Day: June 5, 2025. A day that encourages action and awareness to protect the environment. The theme for 2025 is "Our Land. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration". 2. National Public Lands Day: September 27, 2025. A day that promotes the importance of public lands. Activities include trail maintenance, planting trees, and trash cleanup. 3. Arbor Day: April 25, 2025. A day in which individuals and groups are encouraged to plant trees. 4. World Oceans Day: June 8, 2025. A day that reminds everyone of the major role the oceans play in everyday life. They are the lungs of our Planet, a major source of food and medicine, and a critical part of the biosphere. The purpose of the Day is to inform the public of the impact of human actions on the ocean, develop a worldwide movement of citizens for the ocean, and mobilize and unite the world’s population on a project for the sustainable management of the world's oceans. 5. Clean Air Day: June 20, 2025. A day that focuses on the impact of air pollution on our health and the environment. It serves as a reminder that clean air is essential for our well-being and encourages individuals and communities to take steps toward reducing air pollution. The day aims to educate, raise awareness, and mobilize collective action to improve air quality for the benefit of all. 6. World Rainforest Day: June 22, 2025. A day to recognize the importance of rainforests, and to encourage action to protect them. And two of my personal favorites: 7. World Sea Turtle Day: June 16, 2025 8. National Penguin Day: January 20, 2025 |
