What is one thing I think was better when I was a child?

Vacation Bible School!

When I was a kid, all the Vacation Bible Schools in town were two weeks long—and there were enough of them in my home town to last both morning and evening all summer long.

The churches in my hometown did not seem to compete with each other. My siblings and I and ALL the kids in my neighborhood went to VBS morning and evening all summer long—and had a blast!

I got to get acquainted a bit with all the protestant denominations in town.

We were blessed!

This had a profound impact on my entire life.

I think two week long Vacation Bible Schools are sadly non-existent today...
