If it had affected me, I'd just say 'thanks' or 'apology accepted' or something.

This is actually a very thought provoking question, because it has happened to me at various points in my life that I've been hurt by someone who has later, at the mic on a public occasion, said, "I'm sorry if I hurt someone ..." and I've responded differently depending on my age at the time!
