1 - Read Stoker's Dracula, Pratchett's Jingo, Shreve's Body Surfing for 1-3 scenes I really like for later re-reading. They don't have to be amazing just do what they do really well. I have put off reading Dracula. Sorry Bram. Will make a special effort for the fanged one.
2 - Write 5 different scenes - with a mind to creating a well-organised paragraph that manages content, voice, and mood. Voice is the most fun, whereas content or dramatic effect takes more time to really notice, or to write. I suspect that I edit out content and mood when I am tired, or totally overlook the opportunities a sentence can throw up.
3 - I will continue to write weekdays and read nightly though at this stage, I am definitely in the weeds, and will be bogged down for some time. Wish me luck!
