I would say Dune and the Childe Cycle series hit the spot. Conrad Stargard and Black sun Rising series....wow! Many others could easily make this list but I only have one series where I have learned not to yearn for resolution...The Wandering Inn. This one is by far my favorite. It is also more than 11 million words long and I doubt it will ever end. Or, I hope it will never end.
