I was born in 1970, but the music from the 1950s to 1965 were what I grew up with. Dad thought the Beatles lost it after Rubber Soul. Then mum let us watch Countdown (it's an Australian thing) when dad wasn't home and we discovered recent music. I didn't discover Dylan until high school when some friends introduced me to all the music I had missed out on. The best of Dylan is often sung by others, but Highway 61 Revisited is awesome, and the recent Rough And Rowdy Ways is surprisingly great. I do recommend the 3-disc Dylan box set of his best up to 2007. Yes, his voice is nasally and twangy, but those lyrics - no-one is or has been better.
