While searching my files to find a poem to send to a friend, I ran across an image file I found online several years ago. It purports to be the poster John Lennon is said to have copied into lyrics for the song Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite. I always thought that was almost as much an act of genius as it was technically an act of plagiarism.
I've read in several places that when faced with a lawsuit which claimed that the music for My Sweet Lord was plagiarized from He's So Fine, George Harrison's defense was allegedly, "I couldn't have plagiarized the music because I can't read music. To the best of my knowledge, none of the Beatles can read or write music."
Does anyone have any info or comnents about this?
