A month-long writing challenge, using The Beatles' songs as inspiration. |
I'm not sure it was pressure, either from themselves or from others expecting more-and-more of them. I think it was just their dislike of boredom. I'm that way. I abhor stagnation. I crave mental and creative stimulation. I guess opportunity does occasionally return to knock at the same door again. The Rolling Stones was a great band and wonderfully popular, but very few things in this life have ever been more expansive --- and lucrative --- than Beatlemania. Even the stage show Beatlemania probably accomplished more --- and earned more --- than Decca could have imagined during talks with Brian Epstein. Epstein himself is someone I'd like to learn more about. I know almost nowt about him except that the Beatles, especially Lennon, seem to have held him in high regard. I know he commited suicide while the Beatles were (I believe) off with the Maharishi or some such. I think Epstein's suicide was probably related to issues with his personal lifestyle in an unaccepting world rather than anything involving music or business. Those are just my general ideas, based on very little knowledge. ![]() ![]() ============================== "Humility is easily remembered, but not so easily learned." ---Shawn C.
