The Beatles Musical Extravaganza

         The Rutles, satiring The Beatles, had two 'dead member' rumours.
         A rumour circulated that guitarist Stig O'Hara had been killed in a flash fire at a waterbed factory and replaced by a wax and plaster replica from Madame Tussaude's of London. Certain 'facts' seem to support the idea. Even as 'the quiet one', he hadn't said a single word in five years. On the cover of the Sgt. Rutter's Only Darts Club Band album, he is seen leaning in the exact position of a dying yeti.
         Sometime later, Barry Wom, who had changed his name (Barrington Womble) to save time, and his haircut to save Bryl Cream, disappeared for a time. A prevailing theory was that he was having trouble getting dates, thought that a 'Barry is also dead' rumour might help, and was desperately trying to start one.
