Thanks for sharing this review. I have to confess, I didn't know Bambi the film was based on a book. As I was reading your review, I kept thinking how it sounded a bit like the book of 'Watership Down.' It's not really my bag because I'm useless when it comes to animals being injured. I remember watching Bambi in the cinema and crying for, what seemed like, an eternity.
