A mixed bag this week, but mostly positive.

I wanted to work on #2325396 and I did. I only added a single paragraph, so it's not real progress, but hopefully it gets the brain engaged and I pick it up. I noticed that I started the project last August and probably did 90% of it right away and I've only been pecking at it for almost a year now. I like what I have so far and I know where I want to go with it but just keep doing other things instead.

My other goal was to pull something from the idea pile and work on it, and I did. I haven't started writing but I have a page of notes. I have a decent feel for my main character and I have the setting down and I have all the background details which help make it interesting, but I still need a plot. Still, the idea is much further advanced than it was a week ago.

Then we have an added bonus. Wednesday night I thought to myself, "self, you haven't written about Bigfoot in ages. Almost 20 years, in fact." And it's true. And after dinner I started brainstorming and by the time I turned the light out I had the whole story in my head. Yesterday was a slow day at work so I was able to write the entire thing (fairly short - around 4000 words) in a day. I have a rough draft completed, printed out, and ready for the red pen. It maybe wasn't a goal but I'll call it a win. It features not one, but two former Presidents of the United States and is based (loosely) on a true story. So stay tuned for that.
