Noticing Newbies

Hello. I'm Robert a retired geologist with plenty of time on my hands. I like science, history, languages, and comedy. I joined just to write some stories about significant events in my life hopefully with a funny twist. I think I am a good writer, but I realize that I am just an amateur that can formulate mostly complete sentences. I have a lot of experience writing technical reports, but I really don't have an outlet for some of the stories that I would like to tell. Please don't hold back on the constructive criticism as I will need all of the help I can get. Glad to be here. This sounds like fun.
