I think people have tolerated me almost all my life! Why? I'm not sure. I know I have a tendency to speak fast. That can give the impression I don't know the subject being discussed. That's far from the truth though. I started talking fast in Junior High School because I had a minor stutter. So I'd think of words to substitute for a word, and also thought that if I spoke fast, I'd kind of skip past the word. (That didn't work though) I know early in my career at Motorola, people would wander around our cube-city, stopping to talk to many people. They wouldn't stop at my cube, they wouldn't even say hi as they walked past.... Only two fellow instructors would stop to chat. No one else. It took me a long, long time to establish myself for what I knew, the knowledge I have. When you're like me, you accept things like this. Besides, I've always preferred having a few close friends, never a lot of them. I know I may be wrong in this assumption, but it's how I feel. And I'm fine with it, believe it or not.
